HBF Shoots for New Fundraising Opportunities

Date:

Amid the many challenges raised by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Home Builders Foundation took a unique approach to fundraising this year. The organization hosted a clay shoot in May, inviting shooters of all skill levels to its first-ever “Clays to Elevate Lives” event.

“After a long year of social distancing and staying at home, the event was the perfect way to launch this new type of fundraiser,” HBF explained in a press release. “Many HBF fundraisers are annual events which enjoy a dedicated following. It would be easy to stay on autopilot. But the staff continuously seeks opportunities that appeal to a broad audience.”

The event included a pancake breakfast, followed by a training session and the shoot at Kiowa Creek Sporting Club. Sponsorships and raffle ticket sales helped the organization raise over $50,000 to fund programming.

The event was sponsored by Builders FirstSource.

“We are proud to support ‘Clays to Elevate Lives’ and HBF as a way to give back to our community and connect with our industry. We are thrilled with how this event appeals to a large segment of people who support the foundation and the critical funds it will raise to support the important work of HBF,” Brent Guetz, area manager of Builders FirstSource, said in a statement.

HBF’s annual Blitz Build, which usually takes place in August, will kick off on Thursday, June 10. The organization aims to raise $9,000 before the event ends on June 12 through its Ramp This House campaign. Craig Hospital and Fiburon, one of the event’s sponsors this year, will match donations up to that amount.
