A.G. Wassenaar, Inc. Celebrates One-half Century of Success

After earning several degrees in geotechnical and geoenvironmental engineering, Allen G. Wassenaar recognized an opportunity to transform his passion and know-how into a successful soil and foundation engineering consulting firm to serve businesses across Colorado’s Front Range. So, in 1972 he started a business from his home office, honing a specialty recommending foundation systems and developing a reputation for integrity and expertise. Focused on delivering stellar consulting and engineering along with superior lab and field services, A.G. Wassenaar, Inc (AGW) quickly became a trusted partner for numerous Colorado municipalities, land developers, commercial real estate owners, architects, contractors, and builders.

That rapid growth ultimately rendered the home office obsolete, so in 1978 Wassenaar purchased a new building to better accommodate the expanding team of dedicated and knowledgeable geotechnical engineers, environmental specialists, soils and field experts, industrial hygiene specialists and other staffers. In fact, AGW attributes a great deal of its success to the team’s dedication to their clients, as well as their natural ability to develop meaningful and long-lasting client relationships.

In addition to maintaining a helpful and happy staff, Wassenaar also recognized that transforming his dream of becoming the most reliable, responsive, and knowledgeable engineering consulting firm in Colorado a reality, AGW would need to embrace technology. In fact, their early adoption of state-of-the-art laboratories for testing the engineering properties of soil, concrete, and asphalt paved the way for AGW to continue seeking and welcoming new technologies—a path the firm has walked for years, and one they plan to continue following for the next 50 years and beyond.

“AGW will always invest in technology that not only helps our services to be in line with current trends, but will also push us far ahead of our competition,” says Kenny Broseghini, the president of A.G. Wassenaar, Inc.
