The master-planned community’s Hogan Park at Highlands Creek clinched a prestigious Gold Award, leading a suite of distinguished honors

The Aurora Highlands was a standout at the celebrated National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) “The Nationals” Awards event in Las Vegas on February 27, showcasing its commitment to innovation and excellence in community design. The master-planned community in Aurora received the distinguished Gold Award for Best Community Amenity, along with several Silver Awards, highlighting its achievements in new home sales, marketing, and community planning.

Central to its success was Hogan Park at Highlands Creek, the recipient of the coveted Gold Award. The park’s “Art in the Park” initiative has successfully turned the area into a captivating outdoor art gallery, boasting more than 20 permanent art pieces across its two-mile expanse. This initiative encourages public interaction while promoting creativity, sustainability and engagement within the community, thereby becoming a key feature for both residents and visitors. The initiative is set to introduce over 20 additional installations in the future.

The Aurora Highlands was also lauded with Silver Awards for its Visitor Center and a radio advertisement that highlighted the community’s grand opening. This event, held last summer, was marked as Colorado’s most significant launch of a master-planned community, attracting over 2,000 guests who enjoyed various activities and explored the model homes.

“Accepting these NAHB awards on behalf of our team is an incredible honor,” Principal and Director of Onsite Development Carla Ferreira said. “Each accolade is a reflection of our dedication to creating a community that not only stands out in terms of aesthetic and functionality but also in fostering a sense of belonging and inspiration among those who live and visit here.”

The NAHB awards are just the latest in a series of recognitions for The Aurora Highlands and its standout feature, Hogan Park at Highlands Creek. Last year, the community was honored with Denver MAME awards for Best Community Amenity for Hogan Park at Highlands Creek, Best Special Promotion for its grand opening and Best Signage for its iconic 110-foot clocktower. Furthermore, Hogan Park at Highlands Creek has been named an honoree of the 2024 Arts & Business Partnership Awards by the Colorado Business Committee for the Arts (CBCA), highlighting its significant contribution to the arts and community life. The Aurora Highlands will also accept the Arts + Business Connection award from the Aurora Chamber of Commerce in April at their Under the Sea Awards Banquet.

Hogan Park at Highlands Creek, covering 100 acres, merges the allure of nature with cultural richness, aiming to become a vibrant hub for performances and recreational activities that reflect the Colorado lifestyle.

Spanning 4,000 acres near DIA, The Aurora Highlands is designed to meet a diverse array of housing needs while incorporating elements of Colorado’s active lifestyle. Development plans include a Beach Club, Ice and Recreation Center, trails, more parks and three additional schools.

The ongoing development and accolades for The Aurora Highlands affirm its role in pioneering thoughtful planning and community engagement, fostering environments that enrich lives and cultivate meaningful connections.
